Burgenland is located in the eastern part of Austria. 17.000 companies of the sectors:\nbusiness, industry and trade are members of the Economic Chamber. Nearly 5 % of them are\nengaged in exports, as compared to the Austrian average, 10 % of the entrepreneurs are\nengaged in operations abroad. The region was defined as an Objective 1-area from 1995 to\n2006. Burgenland took benefit from the Phasing-Out Programme from the years 2007 to\n2013. According to the Regional Management Burgenland (2014), the area will be a region\nin transition from 2014 to 2020. The development plan focused and still focuses on\nresearch, innovation, strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium-sized\nenterprises and supports investments in energy efficiency in Burgenland. This paper\nfocuses on the expectations of entrepreneurs in Burgenland using an online questionnaire\nand an expert interview. The aim is to provide more information about the propensity to\nstart businesses on foreign markets and the conditions which need to be fulfilled by the\neconomy to export successfully. Burgenland�s entrepreneurs currently see chances in\nforeign markets. Their initial position is better than ever - especially when it comes to\ninfrastructure, funding and the support to enter the market. The trend to globalisation or\nregionalisation is dependent on the local structure of the economy and the demand on the\nhome market. In different sectors and in different areas of the world globalisation and\nregionalisation supersede each other and coexist depending on the political, economic and\nenvironmental situation....
This paper explores the impact of input trade liberalization on export product scope of firms\nin industries with different scope for product differentiation. Firm- and industry-specific\ntariffs are measured to reflect cost effect (intensive margin) and new input effect (extensive\nmargin) of input tariff reductions. Using tariff data and product-level trade data for\n2002-2006, we find that while firms in differentiated product scope expand export product\nlines greatly, firms in non-differentiated product sector do not expand export product scope\nsignificantly, which is robust to different definitions of varieties....
This study aims at investigating the influence that entrepreneurial orientation has on export\nperformance of Portuguese footwear small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Therefore, a\nquantitative methodological approach was used, conducting a descriptive, exploratory and\ntransversal empirical study, having applied a questionnaire to a sample of Portuguese companies\nexporting footwear. The research results suggest that entrepreneurial orientation enhances\nexport performance in the analysed SMEs, particularly innovation and proactiveness, through the\namount of funds invested, human resources dedicated to this activity, number of new products or\nservices introduced in the market and frequent change in product lines or services and\nmaterialization of a long-term perspective, which is accompanied by innovative activities or new\nbusinesses. Therefore, the findings sustain the necessity to invest in entrepreneurial orientation\nas a strategic determinant, which contributes to the growth of small firms in foreign markets.\nFinally, this study makes an important contribution to the theory of strategic management, by\npresenting entrepreneurial orientation as a strategic determinant that contributes to the\nclarification of export performance....
At present, the society experiences an emerging wide range of religious functions carried\nout via the new media such as worshiping, advocating, commodifying, seeking and learning.\nReligious outreach is now executed conventionally and through the online network of\ncommunities. Information technology (IT) and media have become the revolutionary agents\nof change for religious growth and outreach, which presents a new opportunity of social\nentrepreneurship via religious activity. Not much research has been done to ascertain the\nadoption of technology in religious outreach and the state of religious outreach as an\nenterprise in the current context. This research aims to highlight how IT and the social\nmedia are used in the in religious enterprises using the Islamic religious activity of da�wah\nand the da�wah enterprise as a case. Four da�wah enterprises in Malaysia were selected for\nthe study. Interviews with the enterprise owners were conducted and a content analysis of\neach da�wah enterprise website was performed. A value chain analysis was conducted and a\nconceptual model of da�wah enterprise value chain was proposed. In addition, the findings\nobtained also revealed that the da�wah enterprises in Malaysia can be categorized into two:\nthe social enterprise and the business enterprise in which the value chain activities are\nfocused on the creation and dissemination of religious values and content. The finding of\nthis research provides some insights on the da�wah enterprise and how their IT and the\nsocial media adoption have improved their business operations....

More specifically, with focus on cloud computingââ?¬â?¢s suitability and benefits by\noffering a thorough review and analysis to previous and current research, including all types\nof published materials that lead to an adequate answer for the main research problem, as\nfollows:\nWhat are the prospects and benefits of cloud computing technology in the supply chain of\nbusiness organizations?\nThis research method relies solely on secondary data, such as research papers, reference\nmaterials, conference proceedings, and all types of reliable data that serve the purpose of this\npaper.\nThe major conclusion of this study is that; Organizations that work in a more turbulent\nenvironment are the ones that feel the effect of the cloud computing technology on their\nsupply chain performance compared to those that work in a more stable business environment.\nTherefore, the degree of importance of cloud computing adoption varies from one sector to\nanother, therefore, cloud computingââ?¬â?if adopted properlyââ?¬â?can improve the supply chain\nperformance in terms of cost, quality, speed, and flexibility....
